Anti-Snatching/Pick-Pockets Tips for jeepney riders in Alabang-Zapote Road
Filed Under Las Piñas | Leave a Comment
First, you must be alert and always aware of your surroundings most specifically the passengers you are with.
According to some residents, these snatchers/pick pockets can be identified easily as they often wear jackets and baseball caps and have bags (backpacks) with them.
“They suspiciously look around the jeep and at the other passengers to look for a target,” said one commuter who was almost victimized.
A jeepney driver once told Alabang Bulletin that these hooligans usually ride from TS Cruz to Southmall and back and forth while looking for victims.
“One time, may nakasabay ako, sumakay sa may paradahan sa tapat ng SM Southmall. May backpack na nasa harap niya. Lahat ng makatabi niya dinudukutan niya,” said one commuter commenting on a YouTube video about Las Pinas snatchers.
Other witnesses to the crimes said that these pick pockets usually have bags that don’t have anything on them. They use the bags to hide their hands.
Scary.
Some jeepney drivers actually already know the faces of these snatchers but are just afraid to report them to the police.
What is the Las Pinas Police doing?
They’re busy roaming around the villages looking for parked cars.
To avoid catching the eyes of these worthless scumbags, try to remove all your jewelry (earrings, necklaces, bracelets and also watches).
Don’t wave around your mobile phones. Try not to use it when on a jeepney so as not to attract attention.
Be alert. Don’t sleep when riding a jeepney. Always look around you.
If worse comes to worst and you get victimized, don’t fight back. Life is more important than material possessions.
So let us all be careful and let us hope that these heartless criminals will be caught soon (or get beat up by cops or get run over by other jeepneys).

UBFHAI office issuing fake stickers?
Filed Under Las Piñas, Muntinlupa, News, Paranaque | 1 Comment
Has the office of the United BF Homeowners Association, Inc. (UBFHAI) been invaded by someone dirty?
Do the employees in the BF clubhouse know if they are selling original or fake car stickers?
Apparently not.
This was revealed yesterday when one of our Twitter followers reported to us that the sticker she bought from the UBF office was confiscated yesterday because it was found out to be fake.
“The BF sticker I bought in their barangay office is apparently fake,” said the motorist, explaining that she bought it in the clubhouse/barangay office near the Aguirre Gate.
She said that the guards removed the sticker from her vehicle and threatened to confiscate her license.
Upon closer inspection, the guards told her that the green on the sticker was different from the original one and that the people in the middle were black instead of white.
The reader couldn’t believe it because she bought the sticker straight from the UBFHAI clubhouse. She didn’t have the receipt though as it was in her father’s car.
“If it is really fake, someone in their own office is selling fake stickers to non-residents,” the Alabang Bulletin reader said, reiterating that guards did not have the right to confiscate her license.
And then on her way out, she said that the guards refused to give back her license and even their names.
Have they been infiltrated by dirty employees? Who was the one that gave the vehicle owner the fake sticker? Was this just a mistake on the part of the employee?
We emailed UBFHAI regarding this and we are waiting for their response to this matter.
We will update this post as soon as we hear from them.
For those buying BF Homes stickers, please be warned and please double check the sticker that the clubhouse employees will be giving to you.

Aguilar says 10,000 BF Resort homes/households to enjoy potable water
Filed Under Las Piñas, News | Leave a Comment
Some 10,000 households of BF Resort Village will soon enjoy potable water 24 hours a day, 7 days a week after Las Piñas City Mayor Vergel “Nene” Aguilar brokered an agreement between Maynilad Water Services, Inc. (Maynilad) and the various homeowners’ associations.
Aguilar said under the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with BF Resort Village Homeowners Association, Inc. (BFRVHAI), BF Homes, Inc. (BFHI) and its water distribution arm, Philippine Waterworks and Construction Corporation (PWCC) Maynilad will construct and rehabilitate the water system inside BF Resort, Homes Villages in Las Piñas City.
For years, residents of BF Resort, Homes Villages sourced their water from several deep wells operated by the PWCC, or from expensive water deliveries, which charge an average of Php30 per drum and can cost as much as P1,800 per month.
Aguilar explained the project is aimed to support the policy of the National Water Resources Board (NWRB) citing that prolonged use of deep wells can drain underground aquifers and pose threats to the environment and to health. He said the construction and rehabilitation likewise will also prevent operations of illegal deep wells in the area.
“Finally, we can bring clean, affordable surface water to BF Resort, Homes residents. We thank the local government of Las Piñas and the BF Resort, Homes homeowners’ associations for making this project possible,” said Maynilad President and CEO Ricky Vargas.
Maynilad is the largest private water concessionaire in the Philippines in terms of customer base. It is a concessionaire of the MWSS for the West Zone of the Greater Manila Area, which is composed of the cities of Manila (all but portions of San Andres & Sta. Ana), Quezon City (west of San Juan River, West Avenue, EDSA, Congressional, Mindanao Avenue, the northern part starting from the Districts of the Holy Spirit & Batasan Hills), Makati (west of South Super Highway), Caloocan, Pasay, Parañaque, Las Piñas, Muntinlupa, Valenzuela, Navotas and Malabon all in Metro Manila; Cavite City, and the towns of Bacoor, Imus, Kawit, Noveleta and Rosario, all in Cavite Province.
