Is there politics going on behind water situation in Pilar Village?
Filed Under Las Piñas, Sumbungan! | 17 Comments
Alabang Bulletin, through our email address alabangbulletin@gmail.com, once again received a concern over a very important matter happening in one of the villages in the south–Pilar Village in Las Pinas.
Here is the email in full:
I am a resident of Pilar Village. I was reading your page and I just wanted to share or actually just voice out my “irritability” with our situation here in Pilar, particularly in our street (we’re near the church, I’ll just not give out my actual address). 2012 just entered and I don’t want to start my year in this sort of “getting into my nerve” day-to-day dilemma.
Well, what am I talking about… water… tubig… the most basic need of man, that’s being deprived by who knows who in this community. Why do I say being deprived? Because when the talk about getting MAYNILAD into our village and the communication between Pilar Waterworks-Maynilad-LP Mayor’s office started… lo and behold… we started to have a continuous supply of water. Unlike for the past years, we only receive 30 MINUTES OF WATER SUPPLY (excluding 15 min of dirty water) so 15 minutes in total do we receive everyday for the past years! Daily we get our water supply from water trucks (who by the way pays a certain fee to our baranggay for their entrance in the village).
And so, the continuous water supply for the past month means Pilar Waterworks can give its residents a non-stop water supply. Unless, there’s something behind all of these.
Why do I think like there’s some-kind-of hanky-panky going around… blame it to baranggay official who told us… “pagpumasok na ang MAYNILAD, marami ang mawawalan ng trabaho” HUH?! TRABAHO? Who are they talking about? The residents of Pilar? Or those people who are delivering water who happens to be non-residents? Or wala lang kita ang baranggay (because of the fees they charge to these deliveries).
Its irritating because the nearby villages will already have water supply from MAYNILAD. Actually, nilaktawan kami sa paghukay ng MAYNILAD. And this is because of the very “proactive” baranggay officials we have. Very proactive nga!
Some are also telling us the high price that will be charged to us… Uhmmmm….mataas din po binabayaran monthly para sa pagkuha ng tubig sa iba… Remember, this is a lifetime investment… if we need to change for the better… then let’s do it! Eto lang po…. Kung gugustuhin ng pagbabago, may paraan. Kung ayaw, maraming dahilan!
Now that the talks between Maynilad and Pilar has died down, we’re back in our old daily ways… rasyon uli ng tubig!
Hopeless case na po ba kami sa pagpasok ng MAYNILAD?
I am just one voice, and I don’t know if I will be heard.
The resident is correct. He/She is just one voice. But we in Alabang Bulletin hope that someone somewhere can and will do something about this.
After all, everyone deserves water, right?

Once again, a concerned citizen of Paranaque City sounded off on the “real” reason why it’s traffic in the many parts of the city.
Here is her email:
Hello, the reason why the traffic around Bicutan interchange gets heavy because the traffic aids or enforcers there don’t know a thing about monitoring the traffic.
As a matter of fact, it would be better if they just disappear since they are the ones that cause the traffic.
The other day, it being a holiday, Nov. 30, the bicutan interchange was quite light but because those traffic aids were there, the line of vehicles in the west service road going towards bicutan was about 2 kilometers long.
You know why, because those guys stop the traffic which was absolutely unnecessary. We are happy without the number coding – we are miserable having those traffic enforcers in Bicutan.
PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.
There. We do hope that Paranaque City Hall does something about this too to ensure smooth flow of traffic in the city.

Bukas Kotse Gang this time in Total Alabang Hills; Be careful everyone
Filed Under Muntinlupa, Sumbungan! | Leave a Comment
Alabang Bulletin received another email from a reader whose wife was recently victimized by elements of the Bukas Kotse Gang.
Here is his email:
Hi, What the heck…We were victimized by this same syndicate this time at the west service road Alabang Hills Exit Total Station.
It was my wife, around 6:45am waiting for the Mercury store to open, since it will be a quick buy, she just took 500 pesos from her bag and left the bag on the car floor and locked the car, to her surprise when she was already halfway home, she noticed her missing bag.
She lost all her credit cards, iphone and 10K cash. We asked about the CCTV of the establishment but nothing gained here, lacking the security cam coverage.
And for all we know there’s a police detachment adjacent to Total, we reported the crime and they just said gawa yan ng mga bata na galing sa slum areas.
And you know what happened just yesterday we got a call from 7-11 in edsa that they have the credit cards/atm cards of my wife all intact, they just took the money, iphone and the bag.
What puzzles me if my wife locks the car how can they open it without force entry…Is a frequency scanner being used by this syndicate then no one is safe anymore…
This is indeed scary. The email sender’s wife probably was out of her car for less than 5 to 10 minutes. And this happens?
Does the Muntinlupa City ordinance requiring establishments to have CCTV cameras before they are given business permits apply to old establishments?
Remember the Jollibee and Chowking in Molito incidents?
Why are these criminals getting away with crimes like this? And in broad daylight too.
What is the Muntinlupa Police and City Hall doing about this?

A teenager from one of the villages in Paranaque wrote to us several weeks ago asking us to help them follow up a campaign promised by Paranaque Mayor Jun Bernabe when he was campaigning for re-election.
Here is their letter:
Gud day to you Sir/Madam, pls kindly help us to remind the very kind Mayor Jun Bernabe about his promise to renovate our Basketball Court that has been forgotten long time ago.
it was election campaign when he visited our village, he made his speech in the hall beside the basketballl court when he notice (sic) that the basketball court is too rusty and pavement is cracked then he promise (sic) that he will do something about it,if ever he became a mayor again?
Now he is the honorable Mayor of Paranaque maybe he has forgotten ,or he made a lot of promises during the campaign process. Maybe we are one of them?(forgotten)maybe next time again,Promises are really made to be broken,is it?We just hope somebody from the office of the good mayor can visit our basketball court.
RAINBOW VILLAGE 2 UPS 5 SUCAT PARANAQUE..
We forwarded their concern to the Public Information Office of Paranaque City Hall c/o Mr. Lloyd Palconan.
He informed us last week that he had already forwarded the request to the office of Coun. Benjo Bernabe.
We hope that City Hall could help the young ones so that playing basketball could keep them off the streets.

Another Bukas Kotse Gang incident at Chowking/Jollibee Molito in Alabang
Filed Under Muntinlupa, News, Sumbungan! | 3 Comments
A reader again called our attention regarding another Bukas Kotse Gang incident at the Molito Complex in Alabang.
Here is the actual email:
We went to Chowking(in Molito Madrigal Oct. 22, 2011 7:00AM) to have breakfast. We Parked our car in front of Chowking, then we ate.
When we came back to the car, we noticed our belongings(Iphone-Blackberry-Doppler-5000pesos) are gone. When we arrived the car park is full, when we are about to leave the only car left is ours.
I approached the manager of Chowking and asked if they have a CCTV, He said they don’t have one and they don’t also have their own security guard.
Afterwards we proceed to the police station to file a report, we have learned that there are similar reports that have been filed already.
What is wrong in the picture here again? You tell us. The fact that there was no guard in the establishment? The fact that there is no CCTV in the area or the fact that this has happened again and again?
If the establishments are not doing what they should be doing for their customers, let us just all be careful when eating in that area in Alabang. Or just visit other outlets that can give you the security that we as customers deserve.
