Partido San Pedro dominate Munti polls

Muntinlupa Mayor Aldrin San Pedro cruised to a decisive victory in the mayoralty race in the city, garnering a total of 108,091 votes and winning with a margin of 31,283 votes against former mayor Jaime Fresnedi who got 76,808 votes.

Mayor San Pedro and his party mates under the Partido San Pedro also achieved a landslide win in the polls by winning 15 out of the 19 positions including getting 12 of the 16 seats in the city council.

The mayor thanked the people of Muntinlupa for giving him a fresh mandate.

“I sincerely thank the people of Muntinlupa for giving me again their trust and confidence. This victory is a testament to what we have accomplished in the last three years. We will continue to focus on the delivery of basic services to our people,” the mayor said.

Three candidates vied for mayor in Muntinlupa: reelectionist Mayor San Pedro, Fresnedi and Oscar Marmeto.

“The victory is not solely mine but for all those who contributed to having a meaningful, honest, orderly and peaceful election,” Mayor San Pedro said.

Mayor San Pedro was proclaimed by the Commission on Elections on May 11 along with other winners in the local elections in Muntinlupa.

Thousands of people gathered at the Muntinlupa City hall quadrangle to witness the proclamation ceremony.

Outgoing Senator Rodolfo Biazon garnered 82,128 votes and was elected as Muntinlupa’s new congressman, beating closest rival broadcaster and newspaper columnist Ricardo “Dong” Puno Jr. who got 48,763 votes and five other candidates.

Incumbent Vice Mayor Artemio Simundac won his reelection bid with 94,159 votes against District 2 Councilor Marissa Cole-Rongavilla who garnered 80,309 votes.

Biazon and Simundac ran under the Partido San Pedro.

Mayor San Pedro’s candidates for councilor won 12 out of the 16 contested seats.

“This is now the time to heal the city’s wounds caused by exchanges during the campaign. I ask everyone to work and cooperate with me as we go forward towards our dream to make Muntinlupa one of the leading cities in the country,” Mayor San Pedro said.

There was never an election, it is called VOTE-BUYING 2010… It was clear that the HONGKONG trip with the BEI-teachers bear fruits… In time ASP will realize that the majority of the people of Muntinlupa doesn’t want him or his Father Tomas to be their leaders… As long as the COMELEC-Ugalino is around muntinlupeno would never experience a truly CREDIBLE election… The city coffer is already bankrupt and I don’t know where they would get all the MONEY they have spent on the recent massive VOTE-BUYING starting from INC endorsement amounting to 30M..
I just hope media would be fair enough to INVESTIGATE the situation here in MUNTINLUPA because as long as MONEY can buy all things we will never be free from the hands of the San Pedro’s……
