Anti-Snatching/Pick-Pockets Tips for jeepney riders in Alabang-Zapote Road
Filed Under Las Piñas | Leave a Comment
First, you must be alert and always aware of your surroundings most specifically the passengers you are with.
According to some residents, these snatchers/pick pockets can be identified easily as they often wear jackets and baseball caps and have bags (backpacks) with them.
“They suspiciously look around the jeep and at the other passengers to look for a target,” said one commuter who was almost victimized.
A jeepney driver once told Alabang Bulletin that these hooligans usually ride from TS Cruz to Southmall and back and forth while looking for victims.
“One time, may nakasabay ako, sumakay sa may paradahan sa tapat ng SM Southmall. May backpack na nasa harap niya. Lahat ng makatabi niya dinudukutan niya,” said one commuter commenting on a YouTube video about Las Pinas snatchers.
Other witnesses to the crimes said that these pick pockets usually have bags that don’t have anything on them. They use the bags to hide their hands.
Scary.
Some jeepney drivers actually already know the faces of these snatchers but are just afraid to report them to the police.
What is the Las Pinas Police doing?
They’re busy roaming around the villages looking for parked cars.
To avoid catching the eyes of these worthless scumbags, try to remove all your jewelry (earrings, necklaces, bracelets and also watches).
Don’t wave around your mobile phones. Try not to use it when on a jeepney so as not to attract attention.
Be alert. Don’t sleep when riding a jeepney. Always look around you.
If worse comes to worst and you get victimized, don’t fight back. Life is more important than material possessions.
So let us all be careful and let us hope that these heartless criminals will be caught soon (or get beat up by cops or get run over by other jeepneys).

We received a letter from a reader this lunch time relating to us an incident he was involved in early this morning.
Apparently, his vehicle was hit by another vehicle but the other party did not stop.
Here is his email in full:
Hi alabang bulletin!
I hope you will publish this because I want the riding public to know the proper etiquette when involved in a car accident.
Granted, the damage to my car was small but the headache this driver caused me is priceless!
Anyway, here’s what happened to me earlier today:
I was stuck in a bumper to bumper traffic in alabang zapote road along the alabang hills intersection earlier around 11-11:15 a.m.. I was taking my friend to pacific village, alabang coming from bf homes.
I got stuck in the middle of the intersection because of the torrential rain and was moving slowly when lo and behold, a maroon innova with plate number ZAG 761, driven by some lady, came from alabang hills and was trying to force her car ahead of mine!
she could clearly see I was stuck in the middle but she plodded along and the end result was she bumped my left side causing some damage.
What I did was I advanced my car a couple of meters so as not to aggravate the traffic situation and waited for her and to assess the damage caused but when she reached my spot, she just rolled down her window, exchanged a few words then she just drove away!
The last thing I heard her saying was “It wasnt my fault, and I’m not going to pay for your car because I have some car damage too!”
What kind of stupid reasoning is that? Ang nakakaasar pa dun, kasama nya ang anak nya at hindi man lang sya nahiya! walang modo.
And no matter who’s fault it is that caused the accident, no one should leave the scene of an accident!
That’s called hit and run.
This is a warning na lang din sa mga motorists sa area na yan, baka maaksidente sila involved itong car na ito at takasan din sila.
And I hope she’s reading this because I want her to know that I reported her for hit and run to the Muntinlupa City Traffic Enforcement Unit.
Thanks!
There, whoever knows the owner of the Innova can tell her that she can contact us so that we could air her side.
Please be careful on the road, guys.

When will the diggings end?
Traveling from RFC to Zapote earlier this morning took around 30 minutes already because of the small space left for vehicles because of the Maynilad diggings.

What you will encounter when you pass Alabang-Zapote Road
Filed Under Las Piñas, Sumbungan! | Leave a Comment
- This is what they have been doing…
It’s already a pain that they’re digging this Holiday Season (not that traffic there lets down) but Maynilad is leaving behind roads that are barely passable.
What’s happening here?
Las Pinas City Government, please do your job and tell these people to leave the roads how they found it.

Passing by Alabang-Zapote Road is now a chore. Well, yeah, it’s been a chore ever since. But here’s another reason to be wary of passing by the main Las Pinas highway (yes, we’re trying to discourage people to pass by the road so as to lessen traffic, hehe)–diggings at night!
The diggings are spread all throughout the highway turning most areas of the highway into a one-laner. And we know we can’t have that in Alabang-Zapote Road.
Hopefully, the diggings bring what they’re supposed to bring to Las Pinas residents–water.
Hopefully, they clear the area once they’re done with it. A lot of small humps are being left by the trucks and diggings. It’s like traveling on the moon when passing by Alabang-Zapote Road. Not that we’ve gone to the moon. But if you want to, you can try this road.
Hopefully, they finish soon too. It’s Christmas season for Pete’s sake, why are all diggings/repairs being done this season?!
Just be careful when passing by the highway, guys.
