30 families lose home in Parañaque fire, Manila fire snarls traffic
At least 30 families lost their homes in a fire that hit a residential area in Parañaque City Friday morning.
The fire started at 8 a.m. near Aguirre Road at Barangay BF Homes in Parañaque City, radio dzBB’s Sam Nielsen reported.
No one was initially reported hurt but residents tried to save their belongings during the fire, which reached the second alarm before it was put out before 9:30 a.m.
City fire marshal Superintendent Manuel Manuel was quoted in the report as saying 20 houses were razed, and 30 families were evacuated.
Arson investigators are verifying information that the fire started at a house where a cooking stove was left unattended.
Meanwhile, in Manila, a fire at a four-story building caused heavy traffic along Reina Regente Street in Binondo on Friday, dzBB’s Carlo Mateo reported.
The fire started at 8:47 a.m. and reached the fourth alarm. It caused heavy traffic at C.M. Recto Avenue and Jose Abad Santos Street. —KG, GMA News
