50 Muntinlupa Day Care Teachers receive DSWD Level 1 accreditation
Serving as another hallmark in Early Childhood Care Development, the local government of Muntinlupa welcomes the Level 1 accreditation of the Department of Social Welfare and Development to 50 Muntinlupa Day Care Center workers.
Muntinlupa Early Childhood Education Division (ECED) chief Jenny Deuda presented the DSWD-accredited Day Care Center teachers to Muntinlupa Mayor Jaime Fresnedi during the city’s flag raising ceremony last August 13.
Deuda said all Muntinlupa Child Development Centers are now equipped with Level 1 accredited ECED staff.
Teachers undertook assessment and evaluation conducted by internal and external evaluators in areas of Advancement of Children’s Growth and Development, Partnership with Families/Communities/Local Government, Human Resource Development, Program Management, and Physical Environment and Safety. The evaluation was conducted on 2017 and the first Quarter of 2018.
The ECED exec attributed the accolade to the local initiative on children’s development as Day Care Center teachers ensure holistic growth of students’ Gross Motor Skills, Fine Motor, Self-Help Skills, Expressive Language, Receptive Language, Cognitive Development, and Social and Emotional Development.
She also highlighted the local government’s assistance to teachers and workers as the city boasts of having the most number of ECED staff in plantilla (regular) positions and with higher pay among other LGUs in Metro Manila.
Deuda noted that the accreditation is a testament of the quality education offered to Muntinlupa youth in local Child Development Centers.
Muntinlupa City has set a standard among local governments in the country as it gains a following from local cities and municipalities, including international organizations, which express interest in duplicating the city’s best practice in early childhood development.
Local government units and foreign organizations which recently visited Muntinlupa include: Gubat-Prieto Diaz and Barcelona – Sorsogon, Milaor – Camarines Sur, Oas – Albay, Libona – Bukidnon, Sorsogon City, and delegates from Colombia.
The Early Childhood Care and Development Council hails Muntinlupa City as an ECCD champion.
