Alleged kidnapping in SM Southmall, only a rumor says SM Management

Facebook was flooded last week with news of a roaming black van supposedly roaming around SM Southmall and kidnapping kids.

We reported it here because true or not, we just wanted everyone to be more careful when outside of their own homes.

The Facebook post got to SM Southmall management and here is what they had to say:

There is a rumor circulating Facebook about kidnappings allegedly happening within the parking areas of SM Southmall. We would like to assure the public that although the local police has already confirmed that there is no formal report on file about said incidents, SM Management is still doing its own investigation about the matter. 
We would like to enjoin the public to remain vigilant with regard to safety and security. We shall continue to observe strict security measures inside and within the immediate vicinity of every SM mall to ensure the safety of our customers at all times.

Again, whether true or not, let us all just be careful and always have our children at least an arm’s length when going to shopping malls. As seen on news programs, criminals are getting more daring than ever.
