BF Resort fire takes lives of two children

MANILA, Philippines—Two children were killed in a fire that razed a house in Las Pinas City early Tuesday morning.

Chief Inspector Robert Pacis, city fire chief, identified the casualties as Amira Nabil Alsaad, 14, and her brother Ibrahim, 12.

He said the victims’ bodies, which were found near the door, were charred beyond recognition.

Investigation showed that the fire destroyed almost the entire bungalow-type house of the victims located at Block 37, Lot 18, Anlinox Street, BF Resort Village, Talon 2, Las Piñas.

The blaze started at 3:52 a.m. and reached the first alarm before it was put out at 4:26 a.m.

According to Pacis, the victims’ stepmother, May, went out of the house before the fire started.

Authorities were still investigating, as of Tuesday morning, to determine the cause of the fire.
