Businessman shot dead in Parañaque

MANILA, Philippines – A businessman was shot dead by one of two gunmen in Parañaque City Thursday morning.

Police said the victim, Jesus Cristobal, 34, who has a brake bonding business, of San Dionisio, Paranaque, succumbed to a gunshot wound.

Melvin Bolado, Cristobal’s brother-in-law, told police investigators that they were going to a cockfight pit in F. Cruz St.,Phase 3, Lagoon, Parañaque, when two unidentified gunmen blocked their path.

One of the suspects ordered Bolado to bow his head and seconds later he heard a single gunshot.

Bolado said the suspects, one of whom was wearing a cap, took Cristobal’s wristwatch and cash before fleeing the scene.

Police investigators are still looking into the motive of the killing.
