CEU acquires Las Piñas College

Centro Escolar University (CEU), a leading Higher Education Institution (HEI), has extended its reach south of Metro Manila by acquiring Las Piñas College (LPC).
CEU’s acquisition of LPC is a manifestation of its commitment to deliver quality education to a wider scope and to a greater number of the youth.
LPC which started operating in 1975 offers a full range of programs from Kindergarten to Graduate School.
CEU was established on June 3, 1907 and has campuses in Manila, Makati, and Malolos offering over 50 academic programs. It has the highest number of programs at the highest level of accreditation – Level IV – by the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA) as certified by the Federation of Accrediting Agencies of the Philippines (FAAP): Biology, Psychology, Pharmacy, Business Administration, Dentistry, Optometry, Nutrition and Dietetics, Liberal Arts (Mass Communication and Political Science), Education, and Medical Technology.
Graduates of CEU consistently land in the top 10 of licensure examinations. In fact, Escolarians dominated the recent licensure examinations for Optometry from the topnotcher to the ninth placer. It had four graduates who landed in the top 10 of the Dentistry licensure exam (2nd, 6th, 7th, and 9th places).
A CEU graduate placed 7th in the licensure exam for Psychometrician last July and placed 5th in the Nursing board exam last May.
Aside from these honors, CEU first takers also registered perfect and above national passing percentage in the Nursing (91.80%), Optometry (100%), and Nutrition and Dietetics (100%) board exams.
The CEU lays claim to being the only higher education institution to have the following awards for quality: Full Autonomy Status granted by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED); Institutional Accreditation Status awarded by the Federation of Accrediting Agencies of the Philippines (FAAP); Philippine Quality Award for Proficiency in Quality Management System by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI); ISO Certification, 9001:2008 from Societe Generale de Surveillance (SGS); and the Papal Award Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice (For the Church and the Pope).
