MANILA – A 26-year-old man was found dead at the first floor of a condominium in Paranaque City on Saturday morning.
The victim was identified as Kevin Gallardo, a graduating student of the Asian Institute of Maritime Studies.
Gallardo’s mother recalled that her son told her that he was going out with his friends for some drinks last Friday.
He was supposed to graduate on Saturday with a degree in Customs.
Gallardo’s friends told ABS-CBN News that they brought home the victim to his condominium early dawn Saturday.
Gallardo was found dead at around 6 a.m. at the Fountain Breeze Condominium with bruises and blood all over his body.
Those who discovered Gallardo immediately rushed him to the hospital but he was declared dead on arrival.
The victim’s mother thinks her son was a victim of hazing because he was stabbed with an ice pick and had contusions behind his legs.
However, an earlier report of the Paranaque City police said Gallardo possibly fell from the seventh floor of the condominium.
Authorities said it is unfortunate that the building has no CCTV cameras that could possible help in resolving the case.
Gallardo’s family refused to grant media interviews until the autopsy result comes out. – from a report by Carolyn Bonquin, ABS-CBN News
