Las Pinas mayor orders police, barangay and homeowner associations to work together to curb crime in the city
Las Pinas City will be intensifying its campaign against lawless elements.
This was ordered by Mayor Imelda Aguilar as she instructed Las Pinas City Police chief Marion Balonglong to strengthen police visibility in the city.
This developed as there was a recent raid by the National Bureau of Investigation in an alleged drug den in Barangay Manuyo Uno as well as the recent spate of petty crimes in residential areas.
“Police visibility and accessibility on the streets and communities through police patrols, especially fixed and foot patrols, are the best options because the bedrock of proactive policing patrols is to deter and prevent the crimes from happening rather than waiting for it to occur,” mentioned Aguilar in an interview.
The city mayor also asked barangay officials to heighten their alert and coordinate with the city police for possible or suspected potential crimes in their areas.
Homeowner associations were also instructed to coordinate closely with their barangay counterparts to improve security in their areas.
With the directive, let us hope that Las Pinas city will be safer and free of criminal activities.
