QUEZON CITY, December 5 (PIA) —More than 600 young students of Wishbone Kiddie Camp (WKC) in Las Piñas City donated toys, made Christmas cards and wrote letters of hope to children in Tacloban which was currently devastated by typhoon Yolanda.

Wishbone Kiddie Camp is a co-educational school offering pre-elementary and elementary education to children of middle-income families.

WKC Principal, Ms. Tracy Hernandez-Umandal, said that the school administration and its faculties would like to teach its students to take part in helping the nation, particularly the victims of Typhoon Yolanda, rise again after the disaster.

“By donating toys and making personalized, colorful Christmas cards with heartwarming messages, the young students, ages 4 to 12 were able to express their care and concern for the children who experienced the unfortunate event,” Umandal said.

In addition, Umandal said part of the school’s fund for their Christmas party were also set to be donated to Yolanda victims.

The WKC has decided to course their toy donation to the toy drive being undertaken by the Philippine Information Agency-national Capital Region (PIA-NCR) dubbed as “Laruan para sa Batang Tacloban” launched last November 25, 2013.

The donated toys, Christmas cards and letters were scheduled to be sent to Tacloban before Christmas.(RJB/MAPA/PIA-NCR)
