LP local official slate in Munti launch
Liberal Party (LP) incumbent Muntinlupa Mayor Jaime Fresnedi presented his intent to run for 2016 elections together with his local official slate to the public, Thursday afternoon, championing his administration’s commitment to excellence and good governance.
Muntinlupa’s local chief executive hopes to carry on his comeback and further his advocacy for an accountable, consistent, and truthful government of the people, for the people.
Despite of heavy downpour of rain, hundreds of LP supporters attended the official proclamation of local candidates, 11 days before the first day of Commission on Elections (COMELEC) first day of filing for certificate of candidacy held in the city’s Quadrangle starting 3:00pm.
Joining Mayor Fresnedi in LP are incumbent Congressman Rodolfo Biazon for Congressional run and ABC president Celso Dioko as his Vice-Mayor candidate.
For District 1 councilors, candidates include: incumbent Coun. Patricio Boncayao jr., Coun. Phannie Teves, Coun. Ringo Teves, Coun. Louie Arciaga, Coun. Bal Niefes, with Bong Cruz, Danny Carandang and Allan Camilon.
For District 2: incumbent Coun. Dhess Arevalo, Coun. Raffy Sevilla, with Grace Gonzaga, Tintin Abas, Lester Baes, Lucio Constantino, Vic Ulanday, and Marissa Rongavilla.
During his tenure starting from 2013, Fresnedi led initiatives to revive the vigor of public service in local government which reaped recognition from various organizations.
Fresnedi administration steered Muntinlupa LGU in regaining ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System, an international standard accreditation for organizations’ operations, Seal of Good Local Governance from the Department of Interior Local Government which recognizes outstanding performance of LGUs in areas such as financial housekeeping, disaster preparedness, and social protection, among others.
Muntinlupa Traffic Management Bureau manned the heavy traffic along Muntinlupa National Road from Alabang to Poblacion during the activity. Motorists were advised to take alternative route prior to the proclamation rally.
