GOOD NEWS! Maynilad says no more water interruption for next week
(Updated 3:50 p.m.) Maynilad has announced that the water service interruption scheduled for Thursday and next week will no longer push through, as repair work on pipelines is nearly finished, a TV report said.
In his live report on News To Go, GMA News’ Mark Salazar quoted Maynilad as saying that the groundwork at Hermosa and Juan Luna Streets in Tondo, Manila, is almost done, including testing.
This also means there will be no more water interruption at Noveleta, Rosario, and Cavite City on Thursday, he added.
Maynilad was quoted as saying that the stopper on either side of the pipeline will be removed at the end of the day.
Once the pipeline, about 2.2 meters in diameter, has been opened again, it will bring back the same pressure of the water, the report said.
Salazar’s report also added that water will be back at A. Bonifacio, with temporary repairs done at pipeline that was hit by the Skyway 3 Project.
Maynilad said it has yet to schedule permanent repair for the area, the report added.
Flushing
Meanwhile, Maynilad advised its customers to conduct their own flushing when water service is restored to their areas, a report on “Balitanghali” said Thursday.
The report said Maynilad is also conducting its own flushing activities to ensure the potability of its water, but only on secondary lines.
Due to this, Maynilad said their customers should let water flow for 5 to 10 minutes then check if the water is visually clean.
It also said all water should be boiled 24 hours after service resumption just to make sure they’re safe. —Rose-An Jessica Dioquino and Andrei Medina/KBK, GMA News
