Metro-wide CCTV network proposed by NCRPO

For fears that the bus bombing in Makati and other similar situations occur on a more regular basis, the National Capital Region Police Office is proposing the creation of a metro-wide CCTV network.

According to NCRPO chief Director Nicanor Bartolome, there is an immediate need for the project to be implemented with the spate of carnappings and the recent bombing.

He also asked for the assistance of the private sector as well as the LGU’s for support on the extra security measure.

At the moment, there are several LGU’s who have CCTV’s installed within their city’s but Bartolome said the cameras are not enough that is why he is calling for private citizens and local government units to donate cameras.
