Montemar–the most beautiful white sand resort closest to Manila

Montemar Beach Club, Inc. was incorporated as a non-stock, non-profit corporation in 1978 and started operating the following year. The Club has approximately 350 active members among its proprietary shareholders. MBCI has been a majority-owned subsidiary of PHILCOMSAT since 1992; however, it was only in 2009 that the telecommunications company took control of the management of the resort. The Club is open to members, guests and to sponsored groups and small conventions.

The resort is located in Bagac, Bataan which lies in the southwestern part of Central Luzon, 150.82 kilometers, or a two-and-a-half hour drive, from Manila. Situated in a 12-hectare cove nestled between the hills of Bagac and the pristine waters of the South China Sea, Montemar boasts of an immaculate and private stretch of 500 meters of white sand beach with clean and calm waters, ideal for swimming and other aqua sports activities. An established leisure spot since the 1980’s, Montemar has been regarded as “the most beautiful white-sand beach resort closest to Manila.”

Montemar Beach Club is rated “AAA” resort by the Department of Tourism in Bataan. The resort has five inns with 89 well-appointed rooms, all of which were recently renovated by popular interior designer Letty Ruiz who adopted a motif that was plantation-inspired. At full capacity, Montemar can accommodate 450 guests. The Club features two swimming pools, aqua sports facilities, tennis courts and a “Pitch and Putt” 9-hole executive golf course. Resident MBCI Chefs developed the signature dishes for the Club’s newly-renovated LA MAREA restaurant, featuring Filipino and Spanish cuisine. In addition, Montemar has conference facilities which can accommodate groups of up to 500 in comfort and style, ideal for company conferences, seminars and team building activities.

Montemar is also an eco-tourism destination with its Pawikan Conservation Project. The Club’s commitment to the preservation of the endangered marine turtles culminates in an annual Grand Pawikan Fest in November to release hatchlings back to the sea.
