QUEZON CITY, May 31 (PIA) — The Muntinlupa City government pledged to make their city “smoke-free”.
During the celebration of World No Tobacco Day Monday (May 30) at the Muntinlupa City Hall Mayor Jaime Fresnedi and the City’s Environmental Cluster pledged in building a strong commitment to eliminate smoking that causes environmental hazard and health risks to users.
Fresnedi also encouraged the public to support the advocacy and quit smoking as it exposes the individual and smoke-hand victims to various diseases. The Mayor also hopes that the drive for a smoke-free Muntinlupa will not only end in the duration of the campaign but will last for a long period.
As part of the campaign, promotional posters were installed across the city showing the ill effects of smoking to one’s health. Moreover, the City Health Office and Ospital ng Muntinlupa ensured that there are facilities that can help smoke users in their rehabilitation.(PIO-MUNTINLUPA/RJB/MAPA/PIA-NCR)
