NBI raids suspected Las Piñas ‘medical facility’

One hundred Chinese nationals were arrested during a raid on an allegedly illegal corona virus (COVID19) testing laboratory in Las Pinas City, Friday afternoon.

In a report submitted by Capt. John Miranda to the city police chief, Colonel Segundo Lagundi, members of the National Bureau of Investigation conducted a raid at China Food City located at No. 501 Alabang-Zapote Road, Almanza, Las Pinas City at about 4:30 p.m.

Lagundi said that NBI operatives conducted a raid at an illegal COVID19 testing facility being reportedly operated by Dr. Tony Ching Shitian, 35.

He said that rapid testing was being conducted on about 99 Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) workers which was supposedly a requirement for the said employees’ reinstatement at work.

The Las Pinas police chief said that aside from Shitian several Filipinos were administering the test for the POGO workers.

Lagundi said that recovered during the raid were one piece thermal scanner, testing kits and medicines with Chinese characters used from testing for the corona virus.

He said that the drugs were not approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
