Police anti-narcotics agents seized some P307 million worth of shabu in a raid in a Parañaque City condo unit shortly after dawn Wednesday.

The raid comes after a series of multi-million drug bust operations in the past months. Supt. Roque Merdegia, head of the Legal and Investigation Division of the police’s Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Force (AIDSOTF), said the seized items include a sack of ephedrine which is one of the main ingredients in manufacturing methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as shabu.

He said the operation was carried out at around 4:30 a.m. at  Unit 48 Curelean St., Sentosia Condominium, Macapagal Ave., Tambo, Parañaque.

“The raid resulted in the seizure of  suspected shabu in two suitcases containing 20 packs each and another 15 packs placed  in a locker drawer with a total weight of more or less 55 kgs,” said Merdegia. “The estimated street value of the drug seized is P307 million,” he added.

Merdegia revealed that the operation stemmed from a confirmation of an intelligence report about illegal drugs being kept by a group of syndicate. After securing a search warrant, the cops raided the unit and confiscated the illegal drugs.

The subject of the operation, according to Merdegia are Marvin Tan, alias Tiu; Frederick Ta ; Jhonson Co alias Johnson Chua; Jacky Sia Huang alias Tsoi; Richard Catungal; Fernando Alegre Dilima; and, James Garcia who uses the aliases Ming-ming and Emmy.

The official said no arrest was made during the operation.

Authorities last year seized more than P400 million worth of shabu in Batangas that confirmed the presence of the notorious Mexican drug ring Siniloa in the country, and the more recent P1 billion drug haul also in Parañaque City.
