Shoe fair slated in Parañaque
For residents of Parañaque who are looking for good quality shoes at very reasonable prices, this is your chance to get them! The Parañaque City Government under the leadership of Mayor Florencio Bernabe, Jr. will once again host a two-day shoe fair on October 29 and 30, 2012 at the Parañaque City Hall grounds.
Promoting Marikina-made shoes in Metro Manila cities and municipality is one of the many activities lined-up for Sapatos Festival 2012. Themed “Walk this Way: Gawang Marikina, Gawang Kinikilala”, it aims to invigorate the shoe industry and expand its horizon not only locally but also globally.
Coordinating this visit of the Marikina Shoe Caravan to Parañaque are the City Cultural, Historical and Tourism Office headed by Ms. Marilou Fontejon; Special Services Office under Mr. Dean Calleja and the Office of Councilor Benjo Bernabe.
Apart from good buys, consumers will get to enjoy the day with a treat of entertainment numbers; video clips on the history of the Marikina shoe industry; and inspirational messages from Parañaque Mayor Florencio Bernabe, Jr. and Marikina Mayor Del de Guzman.
“As we gladly oblige to the request of the Marikina Shoe Industry Development Council and the Marikina City Government to host a Marikina shoe fair in our city, we invite our citizens and those of neighboring cities to join us in this event for many good reasons. As we know, Marikina-made shoes have outstanding quality, excellent craftsmanship, distinctive style and superb pricing, hence buying them will be a wise choice. For another, we get to contribute to the effort to revitalize the shoe industry and re-establish its prominence in local and foreign markets. Come to this shoe fair, bring your relatives and friends!”, Parañaque Mayor Jun Bernabe said.
