Suspect in kidnapping of 3-year-old girl in Las Pinas arrested, girl recovered
Parents, never keep your eyes off your children.
A 3-year-old girl from Las Pinas was recently abducted but due to the diligent work of the Las Pinas City police, the child was rescued and the suspect apprehended.
The girl was recovered from the suspect’s accomplice in Bacoor, Cavite.
According to Las Pinas City Police chief Sr. Supt. Marlong Balongbalong, 3-year-old Princess Louisana Bumatay was was crying when found but was not harmed.
The suspect, Giselle Omayan, was a vagrant who just took the child.
Omayan and her accomplice, jeepney barker Sergio Dacallos, admitted to the abduction.
The young girl went missing around 10pm last Dec. 30 and was last seen outside their house in Barangay Ilaya in Las Pinas.
A CCTV in the area showed Omayan entering the girl’s compound and taking Bumatay.
The parents of the girl reported her missing just last Jan. 2 after searching for their daughter in the area and putting up “Missing” posters in nearby areas.
They later received a phone call from Omayan asking for a ransom of P3,000 to P5,000.
A concerned citizen who recognized Omayan from the CCTV footage that spread on social media contacted the police and led to the apprehension of the suspect and the recovery of the girl.
Police advised parents to always be alert and know where their children are at all times.
