Watch the Pacquiao-Margarito Fight for FREE in Paranaque!
For the entertainment of Parañaque Pacquiao fans, boxing enthusiasts and sports aficionados and in support to the “Pound-for-Pound King” and “People’s Champ”, the Parañaque City Government under the leadership of Mayor Florencio Bernabe, Jr. arranged for the public showing of the Pacquiao-Margarito title fight in selected venues in the city’s First and Second Districts.
The screening of the upcoming WBC Super Welterweight title match was arranged by the city government through its Parañaque Youth and Sports Development Office (YSDO) headed by Mr. Louie Perez and the Office of Counclor Benjo Bernabe with franchise holders, service providers and barangay officials.
“Parañaqueños, join the nation in providing support to our own Manny Pacquiao who has brought pride and honor to the country by his many victories and outstanding display of skill, discipline, sportsmanship and love of country. We are confident that he will once again emerge in triumph.” Mayor Bernabe said.
It will be recalled that on April 2005, Mayor Jun Bernabe approved City Resolution No. 05-024 series of 2005, a local legislation adopting Manny Pacquiao as a son of the City of Parañaque in recognition of his achievements and considering that he has properties in the city.
The title fight will take place at the Cowboys Stadium in Texas, USA on Sunday, November 14, 2010 at 8:00 A.M. (Philippine time).
The city government has already started the preparations including the setting-up of wide screen equipment in sites where the public can view the fight for FREE. The designated public viewing venues include Don Bosco, Don Galo and San Antonio gymnasiums.
Inquiries may be made with the YSDO at 2/F Parañaque City Hall.
